AMP creates history by organising it’s first Job Fair in Srinagar, Kashmir

Srinagar, 29th June 2024:Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) in association with Business & Employment Bureau (BEB), Jamia Hamdard organized a mega Job Fair in University of Kashmir, Srinagar, on Saturday, 29th June 2024, which was a huge success. The Job fair was conducted to help unemployed youths of Jammu & Kashmir to get placed in reputed mainstream Corporates and to provide opportunities to the needy without any discrimination of Caste, Community and Creed.

There was a great response to the Job fair as more than 1000 Candidates turned up. 25 Corporates and Recruiters from across various industries participated in the Job Fair with more than 5000+ vacancies available for jobless youths. At the end of the day 36 Candidates were Selected and more than 353 were Shortlisted. Prof. Nilofer Khan, Vice Chancellor – University of Kashmir, was the Chief Guest at the event and inaugurated the Job Fair.

She was quite pleased to see the arrangements at the Job Fair venue and commended efforts of the organisers for providing job opportunities to the youth in Kashmir. She further said, “The Government at the Centre & State level tries its best to help deserving students get jobs. However, they are unable to provide the jobs to all, and this initiative by University of Kashmir is a small step to help needy Candidates with jobs so they can support their families and contribute in nation-building.”Prof. Nazir Ahmed Dar, Director – Centre for Career Planning and Counselling (CCPC), University of Kashmir said “The job fair underscores a collective commitment to bridge the gap between aspiring professionals and potential employers. Through initiatives like this, the CCPC focuses on enhancing employability skills & facilitating placements, thereby preparing youth to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving global economy. This is a welcome initiative and we appreciate AMP & Jamia Hamdard for getting this job fair to our Campus at Srinagar.”

Mr. Shaukat Mufti, OSD–Business & Employment Bureau (BEB), Jamia Hamdard, the principal sponsor, informed that BEB & Hamdard Foundation have been conducting many beneficial programmes for the progress of the Society and the Nation. This mega Job Fair is a part of the partnership they have with AMP in organising Job Fairs for needy youth across India.Prof. Naseer Iqbal, Registrar – University of Kashmir said ” This collaborative effort reflects a proactive approach in preparing young individuals for successful careers by providing them with exposure to diverse employment opportunities. Such initiatives not only enhance employability but also contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of the region.”Shahid Haider, Project Head – AMP Employment Cell, said “Association of Muslim Professionals believes that transformation can be brought in the society through Educational and Economic Empowerment. We try to empower the youth through Jobs, Skill Training & Livelihoods Assistance, so they can contribute significantly to the Nation’s growth story.”

The event was backed by very strong support from the local AMP Team Members & Staff members from University of Kashmir. Ample assistance was given to the Corporates & Candidates, through the team of volunteers who helped in Registration, Screening, Corporate & Queue Management.
